Afterglow: Gracehopper by Mandy Hager

What a great night the launch of Mandy Hager's Gracehopper was. As Jenny Nagle, Director at One Tree House said "it's always an exciting occasion when Mandy launches another book."

Hager is the author of "Hindsight: Pivotal Moments in New Zealand's History" and "Protest! Shaping Aotearoa". Her books are compelling and insightful and Gracehopper is no different.

When Grace's ex-best friend Charlie reappears in her life she hopes all her questions will be finally be answered, or is everything she thought she knew about to implode? A story about love and loss, friendship, countering differences, a search for a unique identity and the many faces of resilience.

Gracehopper is a powerful book suitable for older young adults.

We heard speeches from Jenny Nagle, Director at One Tree House and Alan Gray who helped Mandy Hager with her research for the book. Alan Gray said that "Gracehopper was a truly realistic depiction of living as a tiny person and is so pleased to have this book written and accessible for everyone to read."

Award-winning film-maker and screenwriter Linda Niccol launched the book.
