Book Launch: Taku Ikura Tuatahi | My First Ikura

Join us this Sunday 16 November at 3pm as we celebrate My First Ikura (Taku Ikura Tuatahi ) - the first children’s book in Aotearoa about menstruation from a te ao Māori lens.

Author Qiane Matata-Sipu (Te Ahiwaru, Te Ākitai, Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Pikiao, Rarotonga, Mangaia) will be joined by illustrator Isobel Joy Te Aho-White (Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Kahungunu ki te Wairoa) and designer Chloē Reweti (Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Tukorehe, Ngāti Porou) for readings, and to talk about the creation and kaupapa of this important pukapuka for growing girls and their whānau.

There'll be gifts too, including hue seeds from Te Whare Hue and period packs from the incredible team at Dignity NZ.
