This is my favourite book of 2024! The Tale of Despereaux meets Scheherazade in this beautiful middle-grade novel. Brie the mouse lives in a cheese shop guarded by the dreaded cat Gorgonzola. When Gorgonzola catches Brie, the little mouse does the only thing he can think of to survive, he starts telling the cat a magical story.... with a cliff hanger at the end. To hear the rest Gorgonzola will have to keep Brie alive another night and Brie will have to think fast to keep the entertainment going. A tale within a tale, this is a truly special book that parents and children will want to reread time and time again.
